Florida Certified Paralegal (FCP)

EARN UP TO 29 CLE HOURS AND BECOME A FLORIDA CERTIFIED PARALEGAL (FCP)!

The Paralegal Association of Florida, Inc. (PAF) established the Florida Certified Paralegal (FCP) Program to complement the National Association of Legal Assistants’ (NALA) Certified Paralegal (CP) Program.  Its purpose is to provide a standard of measurement of advanced skills and knowledge in Florida-specific law.  PAF administers the FCP Examination annually.


2019 Florida Certified Paralegal (“FCP”) Workshop Program

PAF will be hosting a 10-week webinar program in preparation for the FCP Exam.  Each Workshop will be a live one-hour webinar on a Wednesday at lunchtime.  Out of these 10 Workshops, 9 will be NALA-approved for one (1) hour of CLE each.

Anyone may attend the live Workshops without taking the FCP Exam.  Workshops are available for purchase by completing and sending in the Workshop Order Form found below:

FCP Examination Information

Applicants for the FCP Exam will ALL be tested on their knowledge of the Florida Courts and Legal Structure, Ethics, and Litigation. Applicants will be required to pick ONE of the following Specialty Areas to be tested in: Criminal, Business Organizations, Real Estate, Contracts, Probate, or Family.  The FCP Exam consists of multiple choice, true/false, matching questions, and an essay in the chosen specialty. NALA will award 20 hours of CLE upon successful passage of the FCP Exam.

Please note that you must be a current NALA CP to be eligible to take the FCP exam.

$65 Retake Fee (Per Section)

All exam and retake fees are nonrefundable.

 

Exam Results

FCP exams are graded anonymously by the FCP Certification Committee. Examinees will be notified of their results no more than six (6) weeks after the exam date.
